DIY: Vehicle Interior Detailing

Difficulty Level

Tools/Supplies Needed:

• Mr. Clean multipurpose cleaner
• Spray Nine
• interior condition
• foam window cleaner
• lint free clothes
• bucket of water
• toothbrush
• wet/dry vacuum
• microfibre cloth

Procedure:

• have a bucket of hot water mixed with your choice of cleaner
• the cleaner I have chosen is a multipurpose soap made by Mr. Clean
• as for any touch stains or extreme dirt build up, I would recommend using Spray Nine
• start by cleaning the larger areas using the water mix and a clean lint free cloth
• for around switches or panel edges, use a damp toothbrush
• use a soft toothbrush so it does not damage the surface of interior pieces
• if you over saturate the area, use a wet/dry vacuum to remove the access moisture or water
• if you have a deep sealed cup holder, apply Spray Nine to the stains and allow it to soak in
• use the wet/dry vacuum to remove the cleaner
• then wipe away using a damp cloth
• a damp toothbrush can be used around speakers and vents as well
• when applying a cleaner, wipe away soap residue with a damp cloth at all times
• use a vacuum to clean the debris from the carpet
• any debris on the carpet built up around panel or trim edges, a toothbrush can be used to agitate the debris so the vacuum cleaner can remove it
• finish up with an interior conditioner for vinyl or leather
• the conditioner will moisturize the materials and prevent them from fading or cracking
• at the very end, wipe the windows
• I find foam window cleaners work best, for tint use an ammonia free window cleaner
• spray the windows, then wipe with a microfibre cloth
• also open the window to clean around the gasket sealing surface
