DIY: Hyundai Keyless Remote Battery Replacement & Disassembly

Tools/Supplies Needed:

• lithium battery model number CR2032
• thin coin or standard/flat screwdriver

Procedure:

• work in an area where you don't risk losing any small parts
• find a slot on the side of the case and use a coin or standard screwdriver to pry the case apart
• once apart, the battery will be exposed on the side of the case
• gently pull on the rubber push pad or assist pushing on the buttons to work the circuit board out from the case
• then to remove the circuit board, unwrap the push pad from around the circuit board
• the battery simply snaps into place and can be removed using your fingers
• the positive side of the battery faces away from the circuit
• a replacement battery is a lithium battery model number CR2032
• reassembly in reverse of disassembly

Programming Procedure

1. Remove the lower trim panel under the dashboard and locate the remote control receiver module.
2. There will be a switch on the side of the module unit. Turn the switch to the set position to initiate the programming sequence.
3. Press the lock or unlock button on the keyless remote.
4. Now set the position of the switch to the off position which will turn off the programming sequence.
5. Now test the keyless remote to ensure it functions correctly.
