DIY: How to Replace Windshield Wipers

Tools/Supplies Needed:

• new windshield wiper blades

Procedure:

• first start by determining if you have a generic style wiper blade and a speciality type specific to your vehicle
• some vehicles maybe required to have the windshield wiper arms in a service position or fully upward on the windshield
• now pull the wiper arm away from the windshield and it should lock into location
• remove the wiper blade from the arm
• sometimes there will be a door which needs to be flipped up, other times there will be a tab that needs to be disconnected
• once disconnected, pull the wiper blade towards the pivot point of the arm
• now set the wiper arm back on the windshield gently so it doesn't snap back and damage the glass
• determine what type of clip is needed supplied with the new wiper blade
• install the clip onto the new wiper blade
• now reinstall the new windshield wiper blade and ensure it is clipped in correctly
