DIY: Nissan Keyless Remote Battery Replacement & Disassembly

Tools/Supplies Needed:

• lithium battery model number CR2032
• coin or standard/flat screwdriver

Procedure:

• work in an area where you don't risk losing any small parts
• find a slot on the end of the case and use a coin or standard screwdriver to pry the case apart
• once apart, the battery will be exposed on the backside of the case
• use the standard screwdriver or your finger to remove the battery
• the positive side of the battery faces the backside of the case
• a replacement battery is a lithium battery model number CR2032
• to remove the circuit board, push gently on the buttons and pull the circuit board out once an edge is exposed
• remove the clear button contact board
• then pull the rubber push pad out
• reassembly in reverse of disassembly

Programming Procedure

1. Ensure close all the doors and locked.
2. Insert and remove the key completely from the ignition more than six times within ten seconds. This will be followed by the vehicle's lights flashing twice to demonstrate that the programming sequence as been activated
3. Insert the key in the ignition and then turn the ignition to the accessories position. All current keyless entry remote codes will have been erased, including the original.
4. Press any button on the new keyless entry remote once. This will be followed by the lights flashing.
5. To add an additional keyless entry remote, release the door lock, then lock again using the main switch panel on the driver's door. Then repeat step four. Up to four remotes can be added to a vehicle.
6. Turn the ignition off and then remove the key.
7. Unlock the driver's door, then open driver's door and close the door.
8. Ensure all remotes are functioning correctly.
