• the heat gun or hair dryer can be used to heat the key which can be inserted in the door afterwards
• a lock deicing tool can be used, which works similar to a key and can be inserted in the lock
• it is a heated element, which emitted heat in the lock that melts the ice.
• lock deicer can be also spray inside the lock assembly
• the trap door on the lock does need to be opened when spray the deicer in the lock assembly
• with vaseline or petroleum jelly, this can be applied to the key, then insert it into the door lock and wiggle it around until the lock frees up
• WD40 is a moisture disbursement penetrating oil
• again like lock deicer, you will need to pop open that trap door in order to spray it in the lock assembly
• let it sit for a minute and this will melt the ice away inside the lock
• a proper lock lubricate will have to be applied afterwards.
• hand sanitizer can also be used to melt the ice away because it does contain alcohol
• just like the lock deicer or WD40, the trap door will need to be opened in order to apply it within the lock assembly
